Victor was born in Bucharest, Romania. At the age of five his family move to Sibiu, where he grew up and was educated. Sibiu is one of the most beautiful cities of Transylvania which is located in center of Romania.

He discovered quite early his talent for painting and enrolled himself in the School of Art in his home town. Although he dreamed of becoming an artist he pursued a carrier in engineering and presently is a P.Eng. Electrical Engineer, with over 30 years of experience in Romania, Germany and Canada.

Victor never lost his passion for painting and the nature of the landscapes sealed in his soul the spiritual values that emerge into his artwork. His love for gardening, flowers, forests and wild nature, combined with his inclination for science and engineering were very beneficial in Victor’s case, bringing him rewards and satisfaction on both fields.

While working as a young engineer in his country of origin, Victor Gligor started in 1987 an art club to promote the artistic talents within the company. He also participated in:

After he came to Canada in 1992, Victor continued to paint discovering the unique Western landscape.

Presently Mr. Victor Gligor is a member of Garibaldi Art Club in Maple Ridge and a member of Federation of Canadian Artists.

His paintings are housed in private collections across Europe and North America.
